Produced: The South Australian Seamen’s Union was founded in September 1872. The photographs were taken by Samuel White Sweet, approximately 1880.

The man on the right of image B 43159 is said to be Charles Haines, one of the founders of the Port Adelaide Working Men’s Association and Seamen’s Union.
