Liberals: Slash and burn coming for public sector workers

March 15, 2018

SA Unions says thousands of teachers, nurses, firefighters and police face the axe after Liberal Leader Stephen Marshall told the Leaders debate last night that he would cut public sector numbers.

State Secretary Joe Szakacs says Business SA has already been touting a job cut figure of 20,000 and Marshall must today come clean with South Australian voters on how many jobs he will axe.

“Stephen Marshall will sacrifice the jobs of hardworking South Australians to pour more money into the pockets of big business through tax cuts to the big end of town – just like Malcolm Turnbull has given big business tax cuts of $65billion.

“We’ve been asking the Liberals for four years what their plans are for South Australian workers and they finally reveal them with two days to go before the election.

“Unlike Isobel Redmond who had the decency to disclose the number of workers who would be sacked, Stephen Marshall has hidden his true plan until the last minute.”

“Every South Australian public sector workers should vote for their job on Saturday.”
