Comcare training courses are ACTU courses, approved by Comcare under Section 72 of the Commonwealth WHS Act 2011.

Commonwealth Initial Health and Safety Representative Training (5 days)

Under the WHS Act 2011:

• Newly elected HSR's must attend the 5 day Commonwealth Initial HSR course to fully perform their duties as a HSR.

• As a HSR, you are entitled to attend training with a provider of your choice, in consultation with your Person Business or Undertaking (PCBU).

And:

• Participants must complete all 5 days of the Initial Commonwealth HSR training within 6 months of starting the HSR Representatives course to be eligible for the issuement of Certificate of attainment.

> 2018 Commonwealth Course Enrolment Form & Enrolment Policy, the HSR and Employer are required to sign and return the enrolment policy with the enrolment form.

Course Description

HSR's are entitled under the WHS Regulations and outlined in section 72 of the WHS Act to attend a course of training in work health and safety that is approved by the regulator.

A five day course where participants will look at injuries and diseases in workplaces; causes of accidents; the WHS Act 2011; and a range of other WHS issues to enable them to effectively perform their role as a HSR in the workplace.

Target Group

Elected Health and Safety Representatives and Deputy Health and Safety Representatives.
